I’m tryin to get back yall…bear with me 🙂

PS: I love that song!

Chial this summer been rough as hell on a sista!  But you know what tho???

Change is rough, but necessary.  I prayed for change, so I got it.  Be careful what you ask for…you never know how you’re gonna get it.  Freedom really aint free yall…

Needless to say my YOLOing took a major hit this summer.  But all is not lost.  My favorite time of the year is here; Fall!  And my fav month is here too, OCTOBER!  So, the YOLOing will commence…but the nature of the YOLO will be quite different.  After all, my life’s different now and I”m in a totally different place so it’s only fitting.  The original list’s changed so much since I wrote that post anyways (I’ll append 😉 it later).  But yeah I still need a vacay.  I don’t see that happening any time soon though with school in full swing and all.  I did get a tattoo tho, so I guess that counts.  The main thing is that I keep moving forward and continue to try and force myself outside of my comfort zone, which these days is leaving the house and going in most public places.  But don’t worry, I know how to mask my emotions to superficial people who walk around most of the time oblivious to their surroundings, which is most people.  So if I do have a moment, really no one notices.

Anyhoe tho…

I had a dream yesterday  morning featuring Mollie.  Not my first one, but the first one where I felt as if it was real.  I could feel her so vividly and it made me feel comfortable, like the past 5 months had never happened and life was ‘normal’ again.  Then I woke up to a rude awakening; to my ‘new normal’ and the shit sucked!  I’m grateful for the moments like that though.  It is a testament to the strength of our bond that I believe will always be with me.  It’s a catch 22 though…as great as I felt it was temporary and it wasn’t reality.  It was a reminder of my old reality.  My new reality is in my waking life and that is the one I need to become more acclimated with.

So yeah…I’ll be taking any YOLO suggestions into consideration (doesn’t necessarily mean I’ll do them) but still…

Pound Cake

  • 3 c flour
  • 3 c sugar
  • 1 lb (4 sticks) butter, at room temperature
  • 6 eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 tbsp vanilla flavoring

Preheat oven to 450°F

Cream the butter and sugar together in a bowl.  Add the eggs, one at a time until they are all combined.  Add the vanilla.

Add in the flour in parts until all of your flour is added.  The batter won’t look like a traditional cake batter and that’s ok.

Bake for about 45-50 mins or until the middle of the cake is set.  Allow to cool for at least 30 mins before serving.

Hint: You can substitute the vanilla flavoring for lemon if you want to make a lemon pound cake.
