I don’t know if y’all know this about me, but I’m black.  Like, real black.  Like, I do a lot of hood rat things…like listen to Juicy J, and on occasion drink brown licka (yup, lick-a!).

But serious up tho, who tf don’t like  Hennessy?  That’s some real OG typea shit right there lol.  But no, what had happened was… I bought some eggnog cuz I had never tried it before and all these people kept telling me how it was life everlasting so I decided ‘what the hell’.  So yeah, I aint like it.  It’s too thick.  Like, it tastes like melted vanilla ice cream but like, thicker so nawl.  So, I had this thing of eggnog in my refrigerator and I didn’t want it to go to waste.

Fast forward to Sunday night when I have to come up with something to make for the office potluck.  I toyed with a few different ideas: eggnog cinnamon rolls, some sort of eggnog fudge, cookies, etc.  But then I thought what would be the easiest? -pound cake.

So long story short I made a pound cake with eggnog and I put white Hennessy in it because I’m black.  Like to hear it here it go:

White Hennessy Eggnog Pound Cake


  • 3c flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 c white Hennessy (I’m sure you could prolly sub E&J or reg Hennessy here)
  • 1 c craisins ( I use the reduced sugar kind)
  • 2 tbsp orange zest
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 2 c sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla flavoring
  • 1 c eggnog


  • 1 c powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp White Hennessy
  • 1 tbsp orange juice

Preheat the oven to 350°F and spray a bundt pan with nonstick spray or properly grease and flour it.

Chop the cranberries (roughly) and add them with the orange zest to a bowl.  Mix in the Hennessy and allow them to soak up the liquor.

Combine the dry ingredients: flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and baking powder in a bowl and whisk them together, set aside.

Cream the butter and sugar together until they are fluffy.  Add the eggs one at a time mixing between each to combine.  Once all of the eggs are combined add the vanilla flavoring.

Once they are all combined add the dry ingredients and the eggnog and mix them together.  Finally fold in the drunken Hennessy mixture, extra liquid and all.  Pour the mixture in the bundt pan and bake for 50-60 mins or thereabout.  Obviously I don’t know your oven situation but just cook the damn cake until it’s done y’all.  If you aint got sense enough to know when a cake is done then girl, why?  Perhaps this aint the recipe you should try.  We all have a friend…and her name is Google… use her.

Meanwhile whisk all the glaze ingredients together to have on deck for when the cake gets done.

Take the [done] cake out the oven and allow it to cool for like 10-15 mins then turn it out on a cooling rack.  Make sure the cooling rack is situated on top of a pan lined with wax, parchment or aluminum foil to catch the glaze drippings.  You wanna glaze the cake while it’s still warm and allow it to cool before eating.
